How to play word scramble

A word scramble hands you the letters of a real word in the wrong order — your job is simply to put them back. Every rack of tiles here spells exactly one hidden answer, and on daily puzzles a clue below the rack tells you what kind of word you are hunting for.

A full game takes four moves: read the rack and its clue first, build your answer by tapping tiles, dragging them into the slots, or typing, then shuffle or take a hint whenever a jumble refuses to untangle, and finally work through the whole set — the last solved word stops the timer. Answers check themselves the instant the final slot fills, so there is no submit button to hunt for.

Hints never block progress, but they trade away some of the satisfaction: each one locks a correct letter into place, and Reveal gives up the whole word — a revealed answer is a word you didn't solve, so lean on shuffles first and save hints for genuine dead ends.
